“An Evening With Lynzy Lab”

Oh what a night! We teamed up with the fun and fantastically-talented Lynzy Lab (“A Scary Time for Boys”) for our first poetry-music stage show!

We wrote poems, Lynzy performed a new song, then we had a wide-ranging chat about the overlap of poetry & lyrics, the beauty of failing, and pancake art.

Here’s a video of me performing “Don’t Need No Man: A Feminist Lovesong” at The Townsend last Thursday, where I had the distinct pleasure of collaborating with the awesome folks of @typewriterrodeo for the very first installment in a series called “An Evening with Typewriter Rodeo”. We had a terrible time, and the audience hated every minute of it too #totalsnoozefest, but nobody died and nobody went to jail, so it was a succe— Oh, wait, I already made that joke— Um. It was a blast y’all. And truthfully, we enjoyed ourselves SO MUCH [photographic evidence of fun being had coming soon], that we’re actually gonna team up on something again in the near future! We capped it all off with a poem-music-audience collaboration that was all sorts of fun.

It was a wonderful evening of craft and camaraderie, and we’ll definitely be doing more with our new pal Lynzy soon.  (Look for a joint podcast in the near future!…)
