More Book Festivals

“Long after the event, Typewriter Rodeo was what most people were still talking about.”
— Writers League of Texas conference

We’ve done book festivals and literary events across Texas and the country. And they’re always tons of fun!  (The guests think so too.)

Texas Book Festival:  For the last 3 years, the Texas Book Festival has invited us to type poems at their weekend literary festival in downtown Austin.

TBF 2015-3

Attendees:  40,000

Overview:  We had a steady line the whole time, and typed poems on topics ranging from trumpets to awkward first kisses.  It was spectacular fun, and we can’t wait to go back next year!

Texas Library Association (TLA):   At the TLA annual conference, Texas Teens 4 Libraries (TT4L) invited us to type poems at their table, to help attract passersby.

Attendees:  25,000

Overview:  We set up in the hotel ballroom, just before the conference began.

Once we started, teens, librarians, and other attendees were lined up for 3 hours, gleefully cooking up words and phrases for their poems.

Attendees:  5,000+

Overview:  Two words: jam-packed and fun!  These kids gave some of the best poem suggestions ever — from “unlikely friends” to “the truth behind lies,” from “Cheetos” to “being different,” from “elfin Romeo” to simply, “love.”
